Founded in 1997 in Encinitas, California, by Andy Laats and Chad DiNenna, Nixon was created to fill a void in the action sports industry for custom-designed watches built for surfers, skaters, and snowboarders. Blending streetwear aesthetics with heavy-duty construction, the brand established a distinct identity through oversized cases, clean industrial profiles, and specialized functional features. Nixon utilizes Japanese quartz movements (primarily Miyota), custom tactical digital modules, and select Swiss/Japanese automatic movements for high-end and limited-edition releases.
